Name
Namesake: Maysel E. Evans
Evans was a speech and theatre instructor at Oshkosh from 1929-1963. She was raised in Bangor, Wisconsin and attended the La Crosse Normal School, University of Wisconsin and Northwestern University.

History
Evans Hall opened for the first time in the fall of 1965 along with its neighbor Stewart Hall as well as Nelson Halls, each with 244 rooms. In the early 1970s, due to shrinking enrollment, the building was briefly used as a conference center and graduate student dorm.
