History
Over the years, several houses were built at 738 High Ave. before American District Telegraph (ADT) constructed its alarm center there in 1960. At the time, ADT had several large clients among the banking and industrial community in Oshkosh and this facility would monitor the alarms of those facilities. In 1996, the building was acquired by the UW Oshkosh Credit Union for $96,000. The building was purchased by the UW Oshkosh Foundation in 2003 and in 2007 it was sold to the University for use as a Faculty Development Center after the Credit Union moved to new offices on Wisconsin St.. Not long after that, the building became the new office of the UWO Police Department.
